Arsenal Player Ratings vs Wolves: Here’s how the Gunners performed
Arsenal extended their unbeaten run to 16 games in all competitions after coming from behind to clinch a draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League. The Gunners conceded early via a goal from Ivan Cavaleiro.
Unai Emery’s side were lacklustre for the majority of the game with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang squandering a glorious chance. Henrikh Mkhitaryan came on as a substitute and made the difference as his supposed cross eventually ended up in the back of the net.
The Gunners will be disappointed to have dropped the points and will rue a number of missed opportunities as the newcomers once again held their own against the big boys.
Arsenal Player Ratings
Bernd Leno (7/10)
He looked confident on the ball and made a few important saves as well.
Hector Bellerin (5/10)
He looked slightly sluggish today and lacked that extra bit of energy. He was unable to provide much going forward and squandered a good goal-scoring opportunity.
Rob Holding (7/10)
He looked solid at the back today and was surely their best defender on the night.
Shkodran Mustafi (5/10)
He lacked composure and awareness. Lunged dangerously into tackles as well.
Sead Kolasinac (5/10)
His ball control looked off-radar as he gave away possession cheaply on a couple of occasions. He was unable to cope with the intensity of the Wolves.
Lucas Torreira (7/10)
Torreira worked hard as always and did everything to get his team back into the game. The midfielder was an ever-present figure in this game.
Granit Xhaka (5/10)
Gave away the ball cheaply far too many times. He has been outshone by Torreira’s presence and his lack of awareness led to Wolves’ goal.
Alex Iwobi (6/10)
Lacked the end product on the night. He looked good but was taken off at half-time.
Mesut Ozil (5/10)
Another disappearance act from the German who dropped too deep and was unable to affect the game going forward.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (5/10)
Squandered a glorious chance to equalise early on. He didn’t look comfortable out wide today.
Alexandre Lacazette (6/10)
The Wolves defenders harried him and barely gave the Frenchman anytime. But he did put in a good shift.
Substitutes
Matteo Guendouzi (6/10)
Came on at half-time and did his job of swiftly moving the ball in the middle of the park. The youngster has always been a bright presence.
Aaron Ramsey (6/10)
Played a huge role in the equaliser but didn’t do much apart from that.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan (7/10)
Saved the day for the Gunners even though he probably didn’t expect the ball to end up in the back of the net.
Here’s how some Arsenal fans reacted to the frustrating result:
Aubameyang and lacazette cannot play together … simple

Today we played dreadfully… Leno saved us.. Please @UnaiEmery_ stop starting Auba on left wing.. Let Iwobi start there & Mkhi on right wing.. Auba or Laca.. One can start at the bench… Team arrangement cost us

Starting Aubameyang and Lacazette isn’t a great idea…Aubameyang as a substitute is better..We should rotate bought of them at intervals

For me Auba is a no no as a winger… if we can’t play a 4-4-2, i think one of the strikers should be benched… I think it was a mistake subtituting Iwobi tho, he would have played way better on the left where Auba played.#ARSWOL

Auba and Alex shouldnt have started the match today, they should have come as a sub. We don’t even deserve this draw

Auba’s positioning has been poor lately.

We shld never start with Auba and Laca… we lose that X-factor. One shld be on the bench
