Arsene Wenger Reveals About a Player who Wanted to Play for Arsenal

Well, it is not secret that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has a list of players that he nearly signed at the north London club. However, as more and more names get added to that long list, it looks quite unbelievable as he missed out on signing the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi to say the least.

However, Wenger did not have the luck to bring those world-class stars to the Emirates and now one big managerial name has joined that list as well. Pep Guardiola, whose side beat the Gunners 5-1 at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night could have been at north London, had the Frenchman accepted his proposal 14 years ago.

The French boss stated, “He wanted to play with me as a coach. He wanted to play for Arsenal. I met him, he was 30-31 back then. I can’t really remember, after that he went to Italy and I had players like (Patrick) Vieira and (Emmanuel) Petit who were still young and played for the national team as well.
