Arsenal’s Strongest Possible Starting XI Post January Transfer Window Should Mahrez Join The Gunners

Leicester have been the surprise team of the season and could well end up winning the league if they continue playing like this. The team have been unstoppable thanks to the performances of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. The duo have both scored more than 10 goals and the pairing of Vardy and Mahrez is certainly one of the most lethal partnerships this season.

Mahrez is one player who is wanted by almost every club in the land and Arsenal are one of the teams who are rumoured to be interested in him. The 24-year-old Algerian is a fantastic winger who is creative, pacey and with an eye for goal. If Wenger does sign him, Arsenal will have a number of fantastic players but how can the club accommodate so much attacking talent in just one team?

Petr Cech

There isn’t anyone better than Cech at Arsenal and the former Chelsea goalkeeper easily makes it into the strongest lineup for Arsenal.

Hector Bellerin

Hector Bellerin has been a revelation since last season and he is one of the best right-backs in the league and should keep his position in the team.

Per Mertesacker

The German might be a little slow when compared to the other defenders in the league but his performances show that he can cope with the best in the league.

Laurent Koscielny

Probably one of the best defenders in the league when on form, Koscielny’s stock has risen since he arrived in Arsenal and it keeps on growing with his great performances.

Nacho Monreal

The Spaniard has finally found his calling at Arsenal and has been one of the most consistent players in the left-back slot this season.

Francis Coquelin

Arsenal are surely missing the combative and tough tackling midfielder but he should make it into their strongest XI when fit.

Santi Cazorla

Another player who has been missed massively this season, Cazorla was the master in midfield and has been better in the position than the likes of Ramsey and Wilshere.

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean would make it into the squad irrespective of how this season has gone for him. He is electric and a player who can change the game in a second, certainly worth keeping in the team.

Mesut Ozil

The Arsenal attacker certainly has shown what he is capable of doing with the right preparation. He has taken the league by storm and keeps on finding his teammates who have been scoring goals for fun; Ozil easily makes it into the team.

Riyad Mahrez

The Algerian makes it into this team purely thanks to his great performance this season; while Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain miss out due to a lot of inconsistency, can anyone keep Mahrez out this season?

Olivier Giroud

Giroud is the best striker that Arsenal have and when he is on form, there is no one better than him for the Gunners to lead the line.
