Arsenal Should Unleash Their Transfer Budget On This French International!

Share

The Gunners have had a terrific start to the 2013-14 Premier League season, currently being five points ahead of their next placed team in the table so far. Whether or not their title aspirations claims can be certainly ascertained, is still yet to see, Arsenal have been massive so far in the current campaign barring their opening week blues against Aston Villa.

The transfer day record signing in the form of Real Madrid’s Mesut Ozil has been the hot chocolate cream on the lip smacking brownie. Even though the likes of Walcott, Podolski and some others are yet to return from the sidelines, their midfield has been a class apart from the other teams in the Premier League.

While so far the Gunners have looked awesome so far, they still need some shopping spree in the January Transfer Window which will restate their title aspirations and fire them to the Premier League Crown.

The one area Arsenal need to reinforce is the striking department. No I am not saying this due to the fact Olivier Giroud is not playing well, the Frenchman has been sublime so far, but as History shows, no team in the recent years has won the Championship with just one quality striker. Yes they have an annual French acquisition in the young Yaya Sanogo, but he is too inexperienced to lead the front line on his own. This is exactly where someone like Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema comes into the fore. The Frenchman has fallen down the pecking order at Real and is almost sure to leave, given they hunt for their next Galactico in Liverpool’s dazzling Uruguayan Luis Suarez.

So here are the three reasons why Arsenal must sign Karim Benzema this January Transfer Window:

Experience and motivation to prove himself:

Of course this campaign is the build up to  the World Cup  and no player would like to be on the sidelines. Benzema would love the prospect to play in the Premier League and would be eager to link up with Arsneal’s glorious midfield behind him, which is sure to supply balls to him on the plate to put them at the back of the net.

What if Giroud gets Injured:

Well, Arsenal fans would hate reading this, but imagine an injury to Giroud, which could make or break their season. Thus this is where Benzema comes into the picture, who is more than a better back up if required to change games by the head or the scruff of the neck.

Two Fearsome strikers to lead Arsenal’s charge:

Benzema has pace to burn is brilliant on the ball with a fearsome striking prowess. He can shoot from distance and much like Giroud his hold up play is fascinating and possesses brute strength at holding defenders and bringing others into the game. Just the kind of a player you need in the middle of the campaign!
