Arsenal or Tottenham – Where Should The Brazilian International Go?

If reports are to be believed then Brazilian Club Corinthians have admitted that they could sell their star striker Alexandre Pato in the January transfer window, with two EPL clubs in Arsenal and Tottenham leading the chase for the twenty four year old. The Brazilian had earlier confirmed that Spurs failed in a bid to sign him in the summer.

‘Tottenham had called Corinthians to ask for my transfer. I sat at the table with the club and my agent and I decided I wanted to stay.’

A mesmerizing talent on his day, it’s a shame that his career has been plagued by a plethora of injuries which has kept him from playing at his peak level season after season. As a 17-year old youngster arriving in AC Milan in 2007, Pato caught everyone’s eye with dazzling dribbles, mesmerizing turns and nimble nutmegs and most importantly raw pace which could unlock the best of defences.

However with the emergence of El Shaarawy and January signing Mario Balotelli were the preferred attacking options and Pato was allowed to return to his homeland earlier this year, joining Corinthians for surprising £12.8million. If I were to write or discuss which EPL side would suit better of the cross town London rivals in Arsenal or Tottenham, I would fumble to make a choice.

While Spurs have been far from their best and with Roberto Soldado yet to score from open play, Spurs do have a problem up front. The likes of Eriksen, Lamela, Chadli need to gel as a team and so far that hasn’t happened for the White Hart Land faithful.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have had a terrific start to the season with their midfield being a class above their opponents and tearing the defense apart of whichever team they have encountered so far in the current campaign. However, their strike force is still a thing to worry with only Giroud being the only fit and out and out striker who has led the line exceptionally. While Walcott and Podolski are still on the sidelines and yet to return to the pitch, the Gunners need to buy a goal poacher who can turn games on its head and Pato looks someone in the mouth.

While it’s tough to decide on which club might suit him better, I would love to see him in Arsenal colors come at the end of the January Transfer Window, not for the sake I am an Arsenal Fanatic, rather due to the fact I feel that the Gunners are a striker away from the Championship Title.

Will Pato be the answer?
