Arsenal left the whole Premier league world buzzing when they signed Mesut Ozil for a club record fee on the dead line day.
According to Sky Sports, Mesut Ozil revealed the reason why he left the Spanish capital club and joined the gunners.
After joining from Werder Bremen in 2010, Ozil became one of the best no 10s in the world producing highest number of assists in La Liga during his stay. But with the arrival of Bale for a world record fee, it is believed that Real Madrid was forced to sell Ozil in order to balance the money book.
Although the German midfielder admitted that he thought he would never leave Madrid, but a conversation with their new manager Carlo Ancelotti changed his mind to leave Madrid.
Ozil said,
“At the weekend, I was certain that I would stay at Real Madrid,” he explained.
“But afterwards I realised that I did not have the faith from the coach or the bosses.”
Ozil also praised his new manager Arsene Wenger,
“I am a player who needs this faith and that is what I have felt from Arsenal, which is why I have joined,”
“I am really looking forward to it because I have the faith of the coach. I had spoken to him at length on the telephone, he explained his plans and that he has faith in me – that is what I need as a player.”
Ozil’s £42.m transfer fee makes him the most expensive German player ever beating Mario Goetze’s transfer fee. We will leave you guys with a video compilation of Ozil’s super passing skills,
