Premier League giants Arsenal are now closing in on the signing of French international Karim Benzema after La Liga giants Real Madrid accepted the club’s £48m bid for their star striker. The news was reported by former player Rodney Marsh, who spoke to talkSPORT and stated that a contact of his had confirmed that the Gunners had made an official approach for their summer target.
Marsh stated talkSPORT, “I had a phone call from a mate of mine, and he’s been right on many things, and he said that he believes Real Madrid have accepted a bid somewhere in the region of £48million for Benzema from Arsenal. In the past this guy has always been right, he’s never been wrong yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
Surely, the 27-year-old Frenchman will be a great addition to manager Arsene Wenger’s side and could them make a strong challenge for the Premier League title. The former Lyon man moved to the Bernabeu in 2009 and has since then managed to make a total of 188 appearances for the club, scoring 87 goals.
