Arsenal Legend: ‘I Feel Sorry For Alexis Sanchez’

Share

For Arsenal striker and club legend Ian Wright admits he “feels sorry” for Alexis Sánchez after the Chelsea game, where Arsenal not even managed a single shot on target.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sánchez tried his best to inspire his teammates, but the Chilean international was heavily marked by the Chelsea defenders. He was substituted in 79th minute.

Ian Wright blasted other Arsenal players who didn’t support Sanchez while pressing Chelsea.

He told BBC Sport,

“I feel for Sánchez, he wanted to work,”

“At one stage he was chasing them down, he looked behind him for 15 yards there was no-one.

“He was the only one closing them down. There’s a lot going on there, especially when you got to Chelsea you have got to be more together.

“It makes no difference if your manager is showing fight but your players are not. Jack [Wilshere] was up for it, but that’s not enough.”

Last week, few online reports claimed that Alexis Sanchez was dropped to bench because he disrupts Arsenal style of way. Sanchez likes to do direct dribbles, take long shots, press opponents, etc… His attributes are made for premier league. Hopefully, Wenger sort out the problems and use the Chilean star to his maximum potential.
