Arsenal Latest Including: Podolski’s Interview And Perez Confirms No Gunners Bid For Higuain

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski firmly believes that the Gunners will throw a serious title challenge next year as Arsene Wenger is the only retained manager from Premier League sides, who have qualified for the Champions League.

“The hope is that this season Arsenal will be at the top of the league. English football, thankfully, is not like Spain where you only have two teams – Barcelona and Real Madrid – who fight at the top”; as The Sun quoted him.

But this German striker is clever enough to realize the fact that it is not going to be a cake walk for them.

“In the Premier League, you have five, six, even seven top, top teams. It’s very difficult but I know that Arsenal are one of those top teams who will be involved.”

The Polish turned German striker had only a season at the Emirates and his 11 goals put him into the top 10 goal scorers in the league.

Arsenal have successfully signed Auxerre forward Yaya Sanogo, and is hoping to unveil the Argentine striker Higuain any time. So, this must have boosted up Podolski’s confidence.

Whereas, the much hyped Anfield striker, Suarez, who has already been linked up with rumours of getting transferred at clubs like Real Madrid & Chelsea, is now heard of getting proposal from the Frenchman.

If sources are to be believed, Wenger offered the Merseyside club £30m for the Uruguayan goalie. It is no wonder that the Red officials rejected the offer, as they were quite adamant from very beginning that they have no plans to put him for auction. Though this offer has surprised many people, because the bid price is seemed to be much below the expectation, this has at least displayed the intentions of Arsenal to seriously flex their financial muscles.

In other news, and what will come as the most shocking news this summer, it is being reported that Arsenal have not made any bid for Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain. According to Madrid’s president Florentino Pérez, who spoke to the Univision regarding Higuain’s future, said:

“We don’t want Higuain to leave. What’s more no-one from Arsenal has come to us and made us any offers at all for him. There are no offers on the table.”

After weeks of speculation linking the player with an infamous move to London, it is finally revealed to the frustration of the Emirates faithful that the Arsenal board have not made any official contact for the Argentine.  From being linked with one of the best strikers in Europe, Arsenal now find themselves at the point where they started the summer.
