Luton Town vs West Brom report: West Brom match report
West Brom came from a goal down to beat Luton Town 2-1 away from home to go third in the table behind leaders Leeds United on goal difference.
Harry Cornick gave the home side the lead, but a quickfire double from Grady Diangana ensured that Slaven Bilic’s men kept a decent start to the season going.
After a fairly even start to the game, Cornick gave Luton the lead with a flying header. He was well found by an excellent cross from the right-hand side by Martin Cranie.
Diangana came on at half-time and changed the game in favour of the Baggies. Three minutes into the second half, Romaine Sawyers fed Diangana on goal.
The latter then sidestepped nicely before unleashing an unstoppable strike towards the goal from 20 yards out.
In the 51st minute, the comeback and Diangana’s dream substitute appearance was complete when he reacted sharply to head in a Filip Krovinovic’s deflected shot.
Late in the game, new signing Charlie Austin had a chance to make it 3-1. But the former Southampton man hit the inside of the post with his effort on goal.
All in all, it was a good win for West Brom, who look decent under Slaven Bilic early on in the season.
