Arsenal opinion: Emery wants Leandro Trossard – a good move?
English news outlet Express has reported that Arsenal
The Gunners have been linked with a move for Ryan Fraser over the last week or so (h/t Express), with Unai Emery looking to reinforce the wide areas of his squad.
Ryan Fraser has done very well this season for the Cherries and is easily among their best players so far. He’s contributed to 18 goals in all competitions for the club and that has seen Everton and West Ham take an interest in him.
For Arsenal, that is something they need and have Leandro Trossard as their second option. The Belgian has also been really good for KRC Genk this season, contributing to 27 goals for the club.
Out of those 27 goals, Trossard has scored 19, which shows just how clinical the 24-year-old has become. His 19-goal haul includes 8 in the Europa League.
Former Arsenal head scout Sven Mislintat had already shortlisted the winger as one of Arsenal’s potential targets for January before he left (the Guardian). However, nothing ever materialised and instead, the Belgian stayed at Genk, continuing to perform.
He’s improved leaps and bounds since then, thanks to a wide range of abilities at his disposal. A direct and very rapid winger, the 24 year old is someone who loves getting into attacking positions, which he has showcased on more than one occasion this season.
The Genk forward puts his pace and agility to great use. It’s a trait that Arsenal
Adding someone like Leandro Trossard will help them bridge that gap. Genk
This is including Kevin De Bruyne, Thibaut Courtois and even Yannick Carrasco. All of them have done exceptionally well at various levels of European football and more importantly, two of these three have flourished in England.
