Predicted Watford Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League
The Hornets, fresh from a vital home win over Everton, could all but relegate a sorry West Brom this weekend as the problems for Alan Pardew show no sign of abating.
Watford are just six points clear of the relegation zone themselves but a home victory here would go a very long way indeed, towards confirming safety for Javi Gracia’s men.
Craig Cathcart and Nathaniel Chalobah are still out with knee injuries though Younes Kaboul, Will Hughes and Tom Cleverley may all return to the squad from knocks.
Gracia is likely to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation featuring the following personnel:
Probable Watford XI
GK – Heurelho Gomes
The former Tottenham ‘keeper made the bench last time and could be ready for what would be his 24th league start of the season.
RB – Daryl Janmaat
The marauding right-back is sure to keep his place for the visit of the Baggies.
CB – Sebastian Prodl
Another start for the 30-year-old Austrian, now in his third season at Vicarage Road.
CB – Adrian Mariappa
Having kept a clean sheet against Everton, it’s unlikely that Gracia will want to change his centre-back pairing and it means Mariappa will start here.
LB – Jose Holebas
Another of Watford’s ageing squad, certainly at the back anyway, but one who can make a major contribution in the context of this game.
CM – Abdoulaye Doucoure
Let’s just say that the former Rennes and Granada man has a very high opinion of himself but that said, he has had a fine season and will start if in full health.
CM – Tom Cleverley
If the former Man United and Everton man is indeed fit, then he will surely slot back in next to Doucoure in the middle.
RW – Gerard Deulofeu
The Spaniard possesses enough quality to turn a game and it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be left out here, all things being equal.
CAM – Will Hughes
The former Derby man is nearing fitness and has played incredibly well in fleeting appearances in this position, scoring twice in two games. So he may be thrown in.
LW – Richarlison
It’s to be expected from someone this young that he will be inconsistent, but he’s the type of player who could really turn it on against a defence like this and could cause havoc.
ST – Troy Deeney
Just 4 goals for Deeney in the Premier League this season but he still looks assured of his place, having hit 27 in the top flight in total.
