3 Serie A Players That Would Make The Premier League More Electrifying

Share

As The English Premier League has become the home of ‘Route 1 Football’ it makes Arsenal, Liverpool and Swansea a little more precious to avid BPL watchers. Here we look at players who could spice things up a bit for other clubs.

Jorginho

The young Italian has become one of Serie A’s bright lights, and as Italy’s top flight has become a hotbed of young talent with the likes of Paul Pogba, Alessandro Florenzi, Domenico Berardi and Mattia De Sciglio, envious gazes have been spied coming from Chelsea and Liverpool. Jorginho is known to be a target for both, and the young Italian has pace, skill and an incredible passing range. Usually deployed as a classic No. 10, he can also play on either wing, or as a false 9. Many people’s bet as a future Ballon d’Or winner, he also carries a hefty price tag. Still at boyhood club Hellas Verona, he may be difficult to prize away though.

Samir Handanovic

One of the finest goalkeepers in the world, Inter man Handanovic makes the list, as if it wasn’t for him last season, Inter could well have been facing a relegation battle. With Joe Hart not quite matching Manuel Pellegrini’s expectations, the Serbia international has been linked with a move to the Etihad. Understood to also be a target for Barcelona, they face competition from one of the great names in European football, and that could prove too much. If City manage to pull off his signature, Petr Cech’s rein as the Premier League’s best goalkeeper could well be over.

Luis Muriel

Udinese’s Luis Muriel has been linked with a move to the Premier League time and time again, but a move has never materialised, as the Colombian has claimed that Udinese is the best place for a young player to develop. With strong similarities between himself and Brazilian legend Ronaldo, Muriel could turn out to be one of the finest strikers in the world, and a team like Arsenal could be the perfect place for him to flourish at a large club. With strength, speed, skill, trickery and a deadly eye for goal in his repertoire, he has more than enough to succeed in the Premier League, and that is probably the reason why he has been a top target for a handful of English clubs for the past few seasons. The sale of Luis Suarez could see him swap  Udinese for Merseyside, and whether that would be the best move for him or not is arguable, as Liverpool fans are famously judgmental, and he is not quite at the level of the Uruguayan yet, but with the right tutelage, it wouldn’t take him long to get there.
