Here Are 3 Potential Loan Destinations For This Arsenal And Liverpool Target

Share

Jese Rodriquez is a player that was once primed for a bright future. Having started out at Real Madrid, he failed to break into the first team and found opportunities hard to come by under various manager. He was first handed a team slot by Jose Mourinho, who clearly saw something in the boy, but his progress has been dented by the various influx of players that Real Madrid keep bringing in thanks to their financial ability.

Had he been at a different club, his career could’ve turned out different. Jese clearly has the ability and was even heralded as Spain’s homegrown answer to Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo due to similarities in their playing style and technique. Things turned out difficult for Jese though as injuries and bad luck meant that he could never establish himself at Real Madrid.

In the summer of 2016, Jese had the difficult choice of either staying put at the Bernabeu or to move to another club in search of playing time. He chose the latter, as PSG came calling for his services with a bid of 25 million Euros that was accepted by Real Madrid. His Toure de France hasn’t gone as planned as he has been unable to force his way into coach Unai Emery’s plans.

It’s more of the same old, same old for Jese – who is a reported target of Arsenal and Liverpool – and he should really look to build on the solitary 9 appearances he has made this season. Of those, only 1 was a start and this should worry Jese, who turns 24 in February. Time could be running out for Jese to fulfil his potential. With Julian Draxler also coming into the club, a move away from the Parc Des Princes could give him the opportunity to get his career back on track.

Here are 3 potential destinations for Jese to consider to get some much needed playing time –

Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have shown an interest in Jese. Aitor Karanka worked under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid as his no.2 and will be aware of Jese’s ability. The chance to work with Karanka again could sway Jese towards the Riverside Stadium. The team have been lacking in attacking intent and are one of the lowest goal scorers in the league.

So the acquisition of Jese could go a long way in ensuring Premier League safety for Middlesbrough. The number of Spaniards that are currently plying their trade on Teeside could also sway Jese to pick Middlesbrough as his next club. Karanka seems to be getting the best out of Spaniard Adama Traore and Jese could look to emulate his compatriot’s success.

Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp have lost Sadio Mane to the African Cup of Nations. He could look to dip into the transfer market to fill the void left by the Senegalese frontman. Besides that requirement, Liverpool have been fundamentally playing without an out and out striker, with Roberto Firmino currently the first-choice frontman.

Jese could thrive at Liverpool due to the playing style employed by Jurgen Klopp. Klopp is also very good with young players and tweaking small things in their game and could do wonders to Jese’s career, which has hit a stumbling block off late.  The fact that Liverpool will be playing in the Champions League or Europa League next season also means that he could get extra game time, even after Sadio Mane returns. This could be a swaying factor.

AC Milan

The Italian club offers a slightly low-risk chance to Jese, who could thrive in the low-pressure Italian league. AC Milan are currently looking to re-build and a young and hungry player like Jese and he is just what they might need to restore their fortunes.

PSG certainly wouldn’t be averse to a loan move as it would only benefit the player and the club, who have too many players in the positions that Jese likes to play in. A good 6-month period in any club could benefit Jese hugely and restore some of the confidence that is clearly lost.
