3 Players Who Should Leave Liverpool For Their Own Good

Share

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is aware of the changes that are needed to be made this season in the squad. Keeping in mind the Champions League Liverpool need a lot of reinforcements in their squad and they have already started with the process bringing in the likes of Emre Can and Rickie Lambert. And they also have a few players lined up whom they want to have in the squad in the next few weeks. But another important aspect of the transfer season is getting rid of players from the squad who would not be vital to the squad and Liverpool have a number of players this season who can be parted with.

A lot of these players are there to increase the wage bill of the club unnecessarily without contributing much. There are others who have an adverse effect on the team when they are not played and thus they need to be put out of the team. And one of the most obvious reason to sell the players is certainly that it will earn the club a revenue, which the club can employ at other places. We take a look at three Liverpool players who should be offloaded before the end of the transfer window.

1. Iago Aspas

Iago Aspas Liverpool

The Spanish star was brought in from Celta Vigo at the start of the season with the hope that he would be on the scoring sheet on a regular basis. Aspas was one of the most prolific players of Celta and he was the main reason that they could avoid the relegation and Liverpool hoped to exploit the goods. But the plan did not come out right and ultimately Aspas became an excess. With the arrival of Lambert, Aspas has no foreseeable future at Liverpool and it is time for him to leave the club.

2. Luis Alberto

He was supposed to be the next Phillipe Coutinho, with him impressing at a very early stage at Barcelona B. Rodgers had high hopes on the player and many thought that he would develop well at Liverpool. But the youngster could never live up to his reputation and did not get adequate chances, which ultimately led him to become a non existent entity in the squad. There is not an iota of doubt over his talent and many clubs would e happy to have him in his team. It would also be great for his career if he is at any other club where he gets to play regularly.

3. Glen Johnson

Glen Johnson

The English right back has done well for the club for many years, but it is finally time when he is not the same player anymore. His performance rate has dropped and Johnson is not the man he was. It is high time for Liverpool to play Flanagan on the right side on a regular basis and get a new left back. But first they need to sell Johnson to some other lower ranked club, who would be happy to have Johnson in their team.
