Manchester City’s defensive fragilities has well come under the scanner whenever captain Vincent Kompany has been absent at the heart of the defence. Manuel Pellegrini has been linked for Porto’s man mountain Eliaquim Mangala to bring a sense of calm at the back as both Joeleon Lescott and Martin Demichellis have failed to lice up to expectations. The Frenchman, Mangala is brilliant at the back with good dynamism on the ball and at 6’2 he is dominating in air, an imposing presence during defending or attacking set pieces. Moreover, he also has the understanding when to throw himself into a tackle and when to hold back and clear the danger away which is an asset for any side. He won’t come cheap but money is not a problem to this rich Manchester City management.
