3 Players That Klopp And Liverpool Could Sign With Their £150m Transfer Kitty

Jurgen Klopp Must Try And Sign These Three Players As He Has Been Promised A £150 Million Transfer Kitty

After failing to qualify for Europe last season, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were not able to sign star players in the summer transfer window at the start of the current season but they are in a decent position to move into the Champions League next season and this might see the Reds spend big at the end of the season. According to reports from the Sun, Klopp will be given a war chest of £150m to spend in the summer transfer window at the end of the season and it does not come as a surprise that they are linked with some of the finest stars in Europe. Liverpool can finally land superstars by breaking their transfer record with the amount of money they would have in hand this summer. But who should they spend it on? Here are three players who Liverpool could target with the £150m they have in the bank this summer.

Alexandre Lacazette (Lyon)

Arguably one of the finest goal scorers in Europe at the moment, Lacazette has been in sublime form in front of goal for the French outfit in all competitions and already has 21 goals and 2 assists to his name this season. He has constantly been linked with a move to the Premier League with The Emirates Stadium being his most likely destination. With Liverpool set to let Daniel Sturridge leave the club this summer, they would be in search of a genuine goal scorer and they need not look too further than Lyon. He has all the attributes that can make him an instant hit at Anfield. He is valued at £40m and the price might rise depending on his contract. Surely, he is an expenditure worth making for Liverpool.

Virgil van Dijk (Southampton)

Liverpool are currently the top goal scorers in the top division in England this season but they have had some long lasting issues in defence that need to be solved quickly. Though Dejan Lovren has been decent at the back, Liverpool are looking to add a center back to their squad in the summer and there will not be a single Liverpool supporter who will not want Klopp to spend on the Dutch international Virgil van Dijk. Currently playing for Southampton, the 25-year old is one of the most consistent players in his position in the Premier League at the moment and if Liverpool can lure him to Anfield this summer, a centre-half pairing of Joel Matip and Van Dijk could make Liverpool 10 folds stronger. Valued only at £25m, Van Dijk would be wanted by almost every top-6 club in the country and has 5 years left on his contract. This might see his value plummet in the summer. But with funds available, Jurgen Klopp must do all it takes to land him this summer.

Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao)

Though they are the top scorers in the league, Liverpool have found it hard to play against teams that sit deep and defend as they have no versatility in their attack and Klopp is sure to spend in the transfer market to add an extra option in attack. He will look at people who would fit into his squad at the club and Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams is one player who could turn things around at Anfield.  Known for his explosive pace and finishing abilities, the 22-year old is one of the most exciting youngsters in Europe and is also wanted by a few other clubs around the continent. However, Liverpool are reportedly ready to meet his valuation of around £43m in the summer and if they are able to land him, the Reds will become a far better team in attack than they have been this season.
