3. Areas to improve
If I am being very honest, apart from the goalkeeper David De Gea and forward Wayne Rooney nobody did justice to their talent. The entire defense needs an overhaul with the trio of Vidic, Rio and Evra set to leave the club. Carrick looks like he is on borrowed time, so reinforcements are required in the middle of midfield. Although United are well stocked in attacking midfield and the striking department, the wings are another area of concern which must be addressed this summer. So basically, every position barring goal keeper and center forward.
Verdict
Manchester United needed a more progressive, flamboyant manager in charge to take care of the egos. Louis Van Gaal would be perfect. Along with him, at least five or six new signings at the back and in midfield are required if United are to have any chance of qualifying for European places next time around.
