Top three new signings to who have impressed so far

Every year, a number of new high-profile signings arrive into the Premier League in search of further fame and glory. Year after year, the Premier League sees it’s summer expenditure soar high.

This time around, promoted clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fulham splashed the cash to bolster their squad. But they didn’t resort to signing players with potential or mediocre football. The newcomers went all out and brought in world-class stars.

It’s clear that most Premier League teams possess the spending power to trump any other club in the world. With the competition always rising, it’s only logical that the prices start going up too. Some of these stars take the Premier League by storm, while some make a slow start and gradually flourish. Others never find their feet and eventually make a move in search of retribution.

Here we take a look at three new signings who have been in excellent form for their club.

Naby Keita (Liverpool)

Keita has come in and seamlessly transitioned himself into Klopp’s high-intensity football. The former RB Leipzig man plays as a box-to-box midfielder for Klopp and has excelled in his first four games.

Keita’s relentless running and work rate make him an enticing option to have in the midfield. The Guinean has been superb in picking up the ball from deep areas and charging forward before finding one of the Reds’ famed attackers.

He has a pass success rate of 88.8%, while also averaging 2.3 tackles per game. He was dropped to the bench in the game against Leicester City last weekend and his absence was immediately felt in the side. (Stats Courtesy – Whoscored)

Jean Michael Seri (Fulham)

Seri is also a box-to-box midfielder who shares a lot of similar qualities as Naby Keita. The Ivorian has averaged a whopping 90.9% pass success rate. He has also picked up 1 goal and 1 assist . (Stats Courtesy – Whoscored)

Jean Michael Seri

His move to Craven Cottage was a highly unexpected one but it seems to be paying dividends for Slavisa Jokanovic. His crisp passing and distribution have proved massive for the Cottages going forward. Seri is capable of picking a pass in any situation, a typical example being his assist for Schurrle’s goal this weekend.

Jorginho (Chelsea)

The Italian is more of a deep-lying defensive midfielder who likes to sit right in front of the defence. Last year, Tiemoue Bakayoko was unable to maintain any sort of consistency playing in the position. But Jorginho has fit in so well that N’Golo Kante is now playing a more advanced role.

The former Napoli man has excelled with his diligent distribution and passing accuracy in the middle of the park. Jorginho has completed an average of 92.1% of his passes in 4 games. Averaging a mammoth 104.3 passes per game, Jorginho has proven to be a brilliant signing by Maurizio Sarri. (Stats Courtesy – Whoscored)
