3 Cheap Summer Signings (Including An Arsenal Target) Who Would Do Wonders For Any Top Club

Share

The winter transfer window might be open at the moment but most of the big transfers take place during the summer when teams are planning what to do for the new season coming up. Players are often out of contract and can start negotiation right now so that they are certain about their future club in the summer.

Steven Gerrard did just that as he rejected Liverpool’s offer and took up the offer from L.A. Galaxy to play in the MLS, speaking of moving away, there are quite a few stars up in the last few months of their contract and who could do wonders for most clubs in the world, let alone the best ones. Here we present 3 players who will be available on a free during the summer, so teams and scouts better sign them up now rather than end up in a battle at the end of the season.

1. Sami Khedira

Sami Khedira

Somehow Sami Khedira’s future isn’t getting resolved, it seemed the German World cup winner was a massive part of Carlo Ancelotti’s team a couple of seasons back but that phase has gone away with Carlo playing with Modric & Kroos in midfield. It hasn’t helped the German that his injury at the start of the season scuppered any chance of him moving to a new club.

Almost unwanted at Real Madrid now, Khedira has been linked often with Arsenal and with Arsene on the look for a midfielder, there could be no better option that the German, who would be coming in on a free.

2. Alexandre Pato

How the footballing Gods play with the mortal ones, Alexandre Pato had the world at his feet and was probably one of the best players in the world a few seasons back. He was the star at AC Milan but his fall from grace has been more rapid than a NASCAR racing engine after taking part in 50 races.

The 25 year old Brazilian is back in his native country and playing for Sao Paulo, to be fair injuries have taken a toll on Pato and fortunately he has been getting back to his best in Brazil, maybe by the end of this season his injury worries can be behind him and a team could take a punt with the transfer of the talented Brazilian.

3. Andre Ayew

Although the plaudits for Marseille’s run to the top of the Ligue 1 have gone to Gicnac and Bielsa, credit should also be given to Andre Ayew. The 25 year old Ghanaian has been one of the star performers for the club for quite a few seasons now and would be available on a free at the end of the season.

Quick on the ball and a brilliant crosser, Ayew is an attacker who loves to run at the defence and with Gicnac and Ayew both at the end of their contracts at Marseille, it could be a busy summer for both players and Marseille but whoever does get the players, will be happy.
