2 Players Who Can Replace Dembele At Celtic If He Leaves For The Premier League

Share

Since arriving at Parkhead last June on a 4-year deal from Fulham, Moussa Dembélé has turned out to become one of the best strikers in Europe, firing Celtic to the top of the Scottish Premiership table, to a League Cup win and to a place in the quarterfinals of the Scottish Cup.

The 20-year-old France youth international has bagged 28 goals across all competitions for Hoops, and his fine form has unsurprisingly attracted European bigwigs who will all test the club’s and the player’s resolve come summer with tempting offers.

Preparing for life without Dembele is pertinent for Celtic as the likelihood of him leaving is very high, and here are 2 replacements for the striker if he leaves Celtic this summer.

Omar Bogle

The former England C International arrived at Wigan Athletic from League Two side Grimsby Town in the winter transfer window after notching 19 goals in 27 league appearances, but he could leave this summer as the club continues to battle relegation.

In 7 Championship appearances, the 24-year-old has already found the back of the net thrice and is already proving why the likes of Hull City, Swansea City, Rotherham, Norwich, Barnsley, Derby County and Nottingham Forest were all after his signature 2 months ago.

Omar has the striking qualities to take over Dembele’s spot, with his dribbling abilities key in making him able to beat defenders easily in one-on-one situations, while he can also choose to shot from distance due to his eye for goal with long range efforts.

The English striker is also good in aerial duels and often demonstrates it by scoring headers, while he also is very capable in converting direct free-kicks.

Celtic will be playing in the Champions League should be of interest to Bogle who can use the European competition as the perfect opportunity to alert other big sides, so a move for the promising talent can definitely work out.

Omar Bogle is more than capable of replacing Dembele at Celtic.

Scott Hogan

Another player capable of slotting seamlessly into Dembele’s role is the Aston Villa striker, and the fact that he was also sought after by a handful of clubs proves he has enough quality to lead the Hoops’ line.

The 24-year-old striker has moved through all the major English divisions except the EPL, proving his worth and quality in each league and shouldn’t have a problem hitting the ground running at the Scottish Premiership.

With over 70 league goals in almost 150 appearances for 10 club sides – 14 of those coming in 27 Championship games for his previous club, Hogan continues to show his stand out striking abilities, but could soon leave Aston Villa despite only arriving from Brentford in January.

The Championship side are far from returning to the Premier League this term, and offers will surely come for the striker to test their resolve this summer.

His dribbling and finishing abilities continue to make him stand out from the lot, and he will surely come for a decent price which Celtic can afford.

Playing in Scottish top-tier should also attract him due to the European engagement offered.

Scott Hogan could be another great choice for Celtic.
