Zinedine Zidane has incredible finals record as Real Madrid manager after Supercopa de Espana win

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane helped Los Galacticos win the Supercopa de Espana recently

Zinedine Zidane got Real Madrid another trophy over the weekend as they defeated city rivals Atletico Madrid.

This was a different Supercopa de Espana clash with four teams in the running rather than just two. The tournament also took place in Saudi Arabia, which broke tradition.

However, this was done to gain more interest in what is a curtain-raiser to the La Liga season, and it did provide some excitement.

Atletico dumped Barcelona out while Real saw the better of Valencia. This set up a Madrid derby in the final and Zidane’s team came out on top.

The Frenchman won several titles in his first stint as the boss and has an incredible record of winning finals.

Opta shared a stat which claimed that Zidane has won nine titles in his nine finals as the Real manager:

Zidane has won almost everything there is to win as a player and is now doing it as a manager.

The French legend won La Liga in 2016/17 as the manager of Real and helped them to three consecutive Champions League titles.

This was his second Supercopa de Espana title to go with two UEFA Super Cups and two Club World Cups.

Zidane eyeing more glory

The La Liga crown isn’t out of reach for Real as they are tied on the same points at the top of the table with Barcelona.

Atletico are third, five points behind Real, but it should be a battle between Zidane’s team and Barca.

The Champions League is another target for Real after missing out last year. However, they face a tough Manchester City side that is led by Pep Guardiola.
