Zabaleta And Kolarov Start: Strongest 4-1-4-1 Manchester City Line-Up To Face West Bromwich Albion

Predicted Manchester City Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion

Manchester City will clash against West Bromwich Albion at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night, in their final home game of the Premier League season.

The Citizens are primed to finish in the Champions League spots as they sit 4th in the table, 3 points ahead of 5th placed Arsenal and just a point below Liverpool 3rd placed Liverpool. They come into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over last year’s champions Leicester City and will look to sign off with a win in their last home match.

Team News

John Stones will be assessed before the game to decide if he’s fit enough to play a part. Claudio Bravo and Ilkay Gundogan have been ruled out for the season.

Here is how City will line up against the Baggies on Tuesday:

Probable Manchester City Starting XI

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Manager: Pep Guardiola

Willy Caballero (GK)

The Argentine stopper has done decently well and will want to impress his boss in a bid to get a new deal to stay at the club.

Pablo Zabaleta (RB)

The long-serving right-back might leave at the end of the season. Should be given a chance to sign off with a start in the final home game of the campaign.

Vincent Kompany (CB)

The captain has made a huge difference to the team since his return to fitness. Will keep his place at the heart of the defence.

Nicolas Otamendi (CB)

The Argentine international has looked like a much-improved player since Kompany’s return to the fold. Will partner the Belgian in the backline.

Aleksandar Kolarov (LB)

After Gael Clichy’s poor game over the weekend, we may well see Guardiola bring in Aleksandar Kolarov at the left-back position.

Fernandinho (CM)

Has impressed at right-back in recent weeks, but could start in the holding midfielder role to afford Zabaleta a starting place.

Kevin De Bruyne (RW)

The Belgian has slightly waned off at the end of a brilliant campaign. Will shift to the right flank with Raheem Sterling dropping to the bench.

Yaya Toure (CM)

The midfielder is another one who could may well be playing his final game at the Etihad, with no negotiations over a new contract having begun yet. Should be given a starting berth.

David Silva (CM)

The midfield maestro is the string-puller for City with his deft touches and incredible passing. Will partner Toure and will look to provide the creative influence.

Leroy Sane (LW)

The German winger is a huge threat to any team with his pace and directness. Will keep his place on the left-hand side of the midfield.

Gabriel Jesus (ST)

The Brazilian’s attitude and work-rate has been really impressive and he has been among the goals as well. No reasons as to why he should be benched.
