Arsenal tried signing Jamie Vardy earlier and was not successful. We would be wrong to think that the Gunners have given up on trying to sign Leicester players this summer. According to a report from DailyStar, they are now looking to sign Riyad Mahrez.
The report also suggests that the Foxes has kept the valuation of the player at a staggering £49 million for anyone wanting to sign him. The 25-year-old Algerian has scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists last season. He was also crowned the PFA player of the year and it is not surprising that the player will cost that much. Moreover, the valuation is said to be based on the sale of Raheem Sterling from Liverpool to Manchester City last summer.
While the price is on the higher side, the Gunners are definitely capable of forking out the sum mentioned. However whether Arsene Wenger will want to spend that amount is yet to be seen.
