Aston Villa sit at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League table with a meager 8 points, 11 points away from safety. Having scored just 16 goals, their abysmal form in front of the goal continues and Remy Garde has decided to resolve the matter at hand by bringing in countryman Loic Remy.
Remy has found game time hard to come by despite Diego Costa’s poor form and a move to the Villa park could well turn out to be the catalyst to him landing a spot on the French national team for the upcoming European Championships. Remy has a good goal scoring record and could well be the answer Aston seek.
Garde made no secret of his admiration for the former Newcastle striker but agreed that a deal was far from being struck at the moment.
“Loic is a guy I know well, of course it would be an interesting player for the team. He is part of some players I’ll try to attract to Aston Villa, for sure. Loic is a special one because he knows the country and the league. I have got some targets who could be at this level without knowing the country and the league.” said Garde.
With problems aplenty, the Frenchman will be best served if he brings in Remy on a loan with the major pile of money being afforded to him used to strengthen the side in the other areas of the park.
