Roma Striker Kevin Mendez confirmed that an offer was made by the Reds for him to join Liverpool, however, the player decided otherwise and joined Roma instead.
The Uruguayan player who is currently on loan at Swiss side Lausanne-Sport was scouted by the Reds since 2013, after receiving a glowing recommendation from former Liverpool player Luis Suarez.
Although the player rejected the offer made by Liverpool along with Roma and Paris Saint-Germain, he recently revealed the reason as to why he did reject a move to the London club. According to the player all three clubs had concrete offers however due to a situation which cannot be controlled by him alone, he decided on to move to Roma. The main reason for the player to make this decision was that Roma are reputed to work very well with young players and that had been the main attraction for Mendez to join Roma despite a glowing recommendation by his compatriot.
