Manchester clubs are set to play against one another in China in the coming week. However, there is another battle brewing thousands of mile away in Brazil.
According to DailyStar, the clubs are set to battle for 19-year-old Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras. The report also states that while City were the ones originally interested in the player, Manchester United are ready to trump their rivals bid to sign the youngster. City apparently made a bid of £27 million for Jesus but United are preparing a bid of £29 million excluding the bonus. This offer also is expected to stop interest from the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan.
The player has a £25 million release clause in his contract and still three years remaining. However due to interest from several European big clubs, the release clause seems irrelevant now. Hopefully, he will be a relevant signing for the Old Trafford outfit.
