German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has been on the target list of most of the European clubs, and the most notable of them are Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
While a recent claim by the Daily Star which stated that the deal has been done and the midfielder will be heading to City Blues gave a scare to Arsenal and Liverpool. Both the clubs are now relieved after the player’s agent refuted any such claims.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the player. However, Manchester City seems to be leading the pack as City’s racing director Txiki Begiristain has reportedly met with Gundogan’s uncle and agent Ilhan Gundogan for a potential move in the summer.
Gundogan’s contract with Dortmund is set to expire on June and as such he is said to have refused to sign a new deal with the club.
Further Juventus too are said to be interested in the German international.
