Liverpool are on the market for a good quality defensive midfielder this summer as the club is lacking in their defences. Reports claim that the Reds are looking out for Malaga player Ignacio Camacho for the same.
Liverpool and Tottenham both are interested in signing the player, according to the reports in British Media, however, the Reds seem to have beaten the Spurs in the race and taken a lead in signing the player as they are willing to pay the player’s release clause of $14 million, according to the Mirror.
The Reds were earlier linked with the player in February, however, that link up did not reach to any solid conclusions but this time around Liverpool seems to be pretty close to getting their man.
Although there seems to be slight confusion with the amount wherein the Mirror reports Camacho’s release clause to be worth $14 million, while Malaga’s sporting director Mario Husillos states that the amount for the release clause is worth $23 million.
