Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been seen following the Copa America closely. While many expected the Reds to bid for a certain Argentine striker, looks like the target was different all along.
According to DailyStar, the Reds are keen to sign Inter Milan defender Gary Medel. The 28-year-old player made 30 appearances for the San Siro side last season and the club is said to be ready to cash in on the player. Liverpool is currently in a bit of a defensive crisis with several players injured and given that Lucas Leiva could be moving to Galatasaray on loan for the season, the team will definitely need some reinforcement at the back.
Medel also has played for Cardiff City before moving to Italy and has experience in the Premier League which will come handy for the team. Liverpool are quite busy in the transfer market with their last major acquisition in Sadio Mane from Southampton.
