Granit Xhaka has been linked with a Liverpool transfer for some time now. Not to mention German newspaper Bild played a big role in the link up.
According to Sportbild, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s captain Granit Xhaka will be moving to Liverpool. Xhaka who recently announced his interest to play in the premier league one day, started a hoard of speculation, which further led to the Newspaper linking the player with a move to Liverpool.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is rumored to be a fan of the defensive midfielder, during the manager and the player’s time in Borussia Dortmund. Sportbild further reveals that the German manager and Xhaka’s agent had a meeting sometime in December.
While there was no further news with regards to the linkup between the club and the player, according to Sportbild, the talks led to more efforts to sign the player.
Klopp considers Xhaka an “Aggressive Leader”, and has always been looking for someone with similar qualities. However, Liverpool will be facing competition from Arsenal for the defensive midfielder’s signature.
