Chelsea wants to sign their ex-player Romelu Lukaku and that is not a secret. However, with Everton playing hardball the task is becoming extremely difficult for Chelsea to sign the Belgian.
A day ago we brought you the news that the Blues are set to offer Everton a “take it or leave it” deal to sign Lukaku. Everton are reportedly valuing their striker at a massive £70 million and while Chelsea are not willing to offer that insane amount they are willing to mix it up with Loic Remy in the bag. According to Express, the Blues are ready to offer Remy as a part of the deal in order to sweeten the transaction for the Toffees.
There is a feeling around Stamford Bridge that Diego Costa may be leaving the club in the summer to head back to his previous club. In case that happens the Blues will need an able striker to handle Chelsea’s goalscoring burden and Lukaku is one of the few capable to do that.
Will Everton like to take Remy in in lieu of Lukaku is yet to be seen but the Blues are serious with the Belgian’s transfer.
