Chelsea have officially completed the signing of £29 million rated French star N’Golo Kante. The Blues were eager to sign a midfield general for the next season as they look to make their way back to the summit of Premier League and have brought in the Premier League winner to add steel to the midfield.
Antonio Conte, after his arrival at Chelsea, said in his first press conference that he intends to turn the club into a “Blazing inferno”.
“This is a new chapter for my life, for my career, for me and for my family. And I’m very happy to start to work in a new country, a fantastic country and a fantastic league.
“I think that this league is very, very difficult — the most difficult league in the world because there are six or seven teams who can win the title.”
“I hope we can surprise people, that there is a small flame flickering that can grow into a blazing inferno.”
Apart from Kante, Chelsea have been linked with Brazilian star Felipe Anderson. The winger’s agent Giuliano Bertuolucci has strong ties with the Blues and a right price offered to Lazio will convince the club to sell him.
Elsewhere, reports have suggested that Chelsea can sign Sporting Lisbon and Portugal superstar Joao Mario for a massive price of £50m. Chelsea have been keen to sign the EURO winner, but the Portuguese side wants to keep hold of their prized possession and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be prepared to meet such a high asking price.
