Chelsea were set to lose the sight of Kalidou Koulibaly entering through the gates of Stamford Bridge. However according to recent reports the Blues have reignited their pursuit for the player with an improved bid.
The Napoli defender has been a prime target for the Blues since the transfer season began and while there were a lot of positives at the beginning, Chelsea seemed to have given up on the 25-year-old Senegalese after Napoli demanded a higher transfer fee for the player. The Blues were meanwhile linked with other defenders but now looks to be chasing Koulibaly again with a higher bid.
According to Il Messaggero, the Blues have offered £43 million for the player recently in the hopes that Napoli will agree. Antonio Conte seems to be determined to bolster the Chelsea defense and probably feels that Koulibaly is the best candidate to do that. It is a huge bid for a defender and probably now we will see some traction in this deal.
