The speculations were right. As soon as the Euro 2016 got over, the deal for N’Golo Kante became one of the first major transfer to be completed.
The France internation, 25 years old, has signed for Chelsea in a deal reported to be around £32 million. This makes it the first major signing for Chelsea in the summer. The official website of Chelsea FC has announced the signing and the contract between the player and the club is set for five years.
Paris Saint-Germain were also interested in the player but his wish to stay in the Premier League have seen the Blues sign him over the French Champions. The player too sounded excited to be joining Chelsea and play under Antonio Conte. Kante has completed the medical and will be participating in Chelsea’s pre-season tour. He was shortlisted for PFA player of the season award but lost to team mate Riyad Mahrez.
