Arsenal are now on the verge of completing the signing of a new deal with defender Nacho Monreal in the upcoming days. The Spanish international has a currently contracted to stay with the club till June 2017 and was wanted by La Liga outfit Athletic Bilbao. The Gunners have already rejected a couple of bids for the defender during the summer.
Also, recently it was confirmed that the 29-year-old defender followed the Spanish club’s official account on Instagram, which further sparked speculations about a move. Despite all the drama, it seems now that the left-back will be staying at the Emirates and a new three-year deal worth £75,000-a-week will be signed soon.
Manager Arsene Wenger had confirmed last month that negotiations were already on, to keep the superstar at the club, who is represented by Bahía Internacional agency.
The defender was signed from Spanish club Malaga in January 2013 and has replaced Kieran Gibbs, as the first choice in recent times for the north London side.
