Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has set his sights on signing Real Madrid’s french striker Karim Benzema. The English club have reportedly contacted Benzema’s representatives and have declared their interest in the striker’s services.
Earlier this week, Spanish outlet El Confidencial reported that Benzema is “open” to an Arsenal move. However, today, French outlet RMC reported that Arsène Wenger has informed Karim Benzema’s entourage that he wants to sign the player.
Benzema, 27, has been constantly linked with a move to Arsenal for a few seasons. Moreover, the Arsenal boss is believed to be a long-term admirer of the player. The french striker enjoyed a successfully 2014/15 season by scoring 22 goals in all competitions. The is the sort of quality Arsenal want to add to their striking department.
Usually, French players love to work with Arsene Wenger and Benzema can form a formidable striker with his fellow International teammate, Olivier Giroud.
