Arsenal fans are not very happy with Oliver Giroud and after strengthening their squad over the last few years that saw them add goalkeeper, midfielders and defenders, now the fans expect the club to acquire a quality striker to help them push for the title.
The club has been heavily linked with a move for Alexandre Lacazette this summer after the Gunners failed to land Jamie Vardy from Leicester City. And now Arsenal have received a boost as it looks like Lyon are resigned to lose their star striker. A week earlier a bid of £29 million was rejected by Lyon but since then the club has spoken out and has refused to comment on the future of Alexandre Lacazette.
The club has told the press that while Lyon wants to keep him, nothing can be ascertained before 31st of August as anything can happen. The French club values the striker at £42 million.
Bruno Genesio, the Lyon manager has now admitted for the first time that Lacazette could be sold this summer.
He told RTL: “He can leave if Lyon want him to. There are some offers that you cannot refuse.
“My desire as manager is that the best players stay and Lacazette is very important for the team
“I have been assured by my president that we will keep the player. You never know what could happen right up until the 31st August.”
