Manchester United Transfer News
The Manchester United fans will surely know that at one point of time, their current skipper Wayne Rooney wanted to leave Old Trafford. At the end of the 2012-2013 season, such speculations had emerged on a large scale. The England international was unhappy after being taken off in certain games, with his transfer request being confirmed by the manager after his final game in charge of the club against Swansea.
Though the Scottish manager did not want his star striker to leave the club at that point, the 29 year old superstar(presently) was in talks with another club back then, as per Le10 Sport. The French magazine further added that by June 2013, Rooney had already agreed a deal with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain, as he wished to leave Manchester that summer.
However, after Ferguson’s departure from the club, the Premier League giants were able to hold on to their star and the Englishman’s relationship with the club has gotten better, after being appointed skipper by current boss Louis Van Gaal a year later.
Le10 claim that Ferguson tried to sell off the all-time England goalscorer in 2012 to bring back Cristiano Ronaldo back to England, who was unhappy with the financial situation at the Bernabeu at that point.
However, things did not work out as per the former manager’s plans and the former Everton man still remains an integral part of the club.
