Arsenal target Julian Draxler is set to be fined for irresponsible comment made on newspaper. The player has been scouted by Arsenal for the last few seasons but the Gunners did not seem to have managed to get hold of him.
This summer, the player has recently spoken to the media where he mentioned that he has informed the coach that he wants to leave Wolfsburg this transfer window. He also went on to say that he was verbally assured that he will be allowed to leave. Obviously, the news did not go down well with the fans and the club officials were furious.
While there are reports of an approach from Arsenal for the player, it is understood that the Gunners have been told that they will have to cough up £50 million if they want to sign Draxler.
As per Bild, Draxler will be fined £85,000 for the reckless comment in public. Don’t agree? Here is what he said,
“I made it clear to coach Dieter Hecking after we were knocked out of Euro 2016 that I would like to leave Wolfsburg. The coach has known about this for three weeks. When I joined, I was assured – verbally – that I could leave the club whenever the opportunity arose. Both Hecking and Klaus Allofs (sporting director) said this. It was clear that Wolfsburg had good prospects, but also that they were a springboard for me. It was always clear to everybody that I would like to join a top club in Europe if I were to get the chance.”
