World-class Ozil, Superb Iwobi – Here’s how the Arsenal stars fared in the 3-1 comeback win vs Leicester

Arsenal Player Ratings vs Leicester: Here’s how the Gunners fared

It was another eye-catching performance from Arsenal as they romped to a 3-1 victory against Leicester City. After going down to an unfortunate own goal via Hector Bellerin, Unai Emery’s men ran riot in the second half.

Mesut Ozil initiated the comeback with a superb goal and an overall performance, after which Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang once again came off the bench to score a brace and hand the Gunners all three points. Arsenal have now picked up their 10th consecutive win under Unai Emery and are very much enjoying their football under the Spaniard.

Here’s how the Arsenal stars fared against Leicester City

Arsenal Player Ratings

Bernd Leno (7/10)

Made a couple of good saves in the first half but was more of a lonely island in the second.

Hector Bellerin (7/10)

Bellerin was slightly troubled by Ben Chilwell in the opening stages and conceded an unlucky own goal, but the Spanish defender nullified that by supplying two superb assists.

Hector Bellerin

Shkodran Mustafi (6.5/10)

A much better performance from Mustafi, who kept things simple at the back. However, Vardy did get the better of him on one or two occasions.

Rob Holding (6.5/10)

Holding made a nervy start to the game and gave away one or two needless fouls in dangerous areas. He was solid in the second half though.

Stephan Lichsteiner (6.5/10)

Lichsteiner was unable to offer much going forward but did well to track back in time and support the defence.

Lucas Torreira (8/10)

Did his job of distributing the ball in the middle of the park. He is turning out to be the key man in this Arsenal XI.

Lucas Torreira

Granit Xhaka (6.5/10)

Xhaka did well with his short passing in the middle of the park but didn’t seem to find the target with any of his shots.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan (5/10)

The Armenian was a lonely soul for the majority of the game and barely made an impact before being substituted in the second half.

Mesut Ozil (9/10)

One of the best performances from Mesut Ozil in an Arsenal kit. The German was the captain on the night, finished superbly into the bottom corner after which he went on to assist Aubameyang.

Alex Iwobi (8/10)

Danced and dazzled his way around the Leicester City defence. The Nigerian is excellent at linking up with his teammates.

Alexandre Lacazette (7/10)

Lacazette was unfortunate not to find the back of the net but worked hard all night. Despite not finding the back of the net, the Frenchman was a major influence up front.

Substitutes

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (8/10)

It was another superb impact from the former Borussia Dortmund striker who came off the bench to hand Arsenal all three points. He is proving to be a genuine threat.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Matteo Guendouzi (6/10)

Gave away the ball cheaply on a few occasions after coming on but did make one or two important tackles as well.

Aaron Ramsey (6/10)

Ramsey came on picked all the right passes and kept his game very simple. The Welshman didn’t have much to do given the Gunners had already finished their job.
