Final Score: Tottenham Hotspur 5-2 Southampton
A record-breaking hat-trick by Harry Kane brought Christmas cheer to the Wembley stadium as they demolished Pellegrino’s Southampton 5-2. The other two goals came from Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli. Spurs are at 5th place in the table after a good run of games, where they have looked dangerous going forward and have moved the ball around rather quickly. Kane has now scored 8 hat-tricks in this calendar year! This fixture was all about him, and he conquered it in some style.

Hugo Lloris: 2/10
A rare performance by Lloris that would go down as horrible. Both the Southampton goals were errors made by the skipper because he was caught in two minds. His decision making was for once, poor.
Serge Aurier: 6.5/10
He looked very threatening every time he blitzed forward but needs to control his crossing as some of them were wayward. Defensively, he was easily beaten on a few occasions, which just cannot be accepted.
Davinson Sanchez: 7/10
He nullified Southampton’s threat when they were on the break by sticking to his marker and using his shoulder strength well. Sanchez wasn’t the best when it came to defending set pieces or winning aerial battles as he needed a teammate to cover. Therefore, one could say he played in fits and starts.
Jan Vertonghen: 8.5/10
The best defender by some distance. He was a rock at the back, combined well with Sanchez to defend and made a match-winning clearance and a goal-saving tackle. Vertonghen was on top of his game.
Danny Rose: 7/10
His crossing was first rate and so was his desire to run up and down the pitch. Defensively, he needs to commit less often. One huge mistake he made was a header that went back to his own goal, almost resulting in an embarrassment. Otherwise, Rose showed good spirit and energy.
Eric Dier: 7.5/10
Sat back and tried his best to help the attack. Yet again, he provided good cover to his centre-backs.
Mousa Dembele: 6/10
Very unfortunate to have been injured. On one side he used his strength to get past players, carry the ball forward and on the other, his first touch let him down.
Christian Eriksen: 7.5/10
Eriksen was everywhere. The Danish midfielder displayed an exquisite array of through balls, one-twos and crosses.
Dele Alli: 9/10
Dele Alli was back to his magical best. He made disguised runs into empty channels and showcased a lot of productivity. The youngster ran riot and was crucial to one of Kane’s goals and Son’s strike. His goal too, was well drilled.
Heung-Min Son: 8.5/10
The South Korean dribbled around and kept hold of it quite well. A composed finish and a well-deserved goal for putting in the hard work and running the races.
Harry Kane: 10/10
Yet another record was broken, yet another hat-trick and yet another typical Harry Kane performance where he didn’t give any opponent a second chance.
Substitutes
Moussa Sissoko: 6/10
Not the best when it came to sticking his foot out and tackling but a certain counter-attacking threat after coming off the bench. Some of his passes though were too safe at times.
Erik Lamela: 5/10
He worked hard to find an opening but is still not back to his very best. A touch slower with the ball.

Came on too late to be judged.
