Wolves vs Sheffield United Prediction: Sheffield United line-up

This year’s Premier League newcomers Sheffield United visit hosts Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday.

Sheffield United (18 points) are currently sixth on the table and have one point less than their opponents, Wolves, who are 5th on the table.

The Chris Wilder-led side enters this match after a six-game unbeaten run, having drawn 3-3 against Manchester United in their previous match.

Meanwhile, Wolves, who have not tasted defeat in their last eight outings, would be keen to make it their third consecutive victory when they meet the Blades.

The Blades, however, boast the second-best defence in the league, conceding just 12 goals from 13 games. Only Leicester, who have conceded 8, have a better record than them in the league.

Team news

Wilder will be hopeful that his key man in defence, John Egan, returns ahead of their clash against Wolves.

The defender, who was left out against Manchester United due to a calf injury, would most likely feature this time.

However, in-form striker Lys Mousset remains doubtful after being withdrawn midway during the second half against United due to a tight hamstring.

Predicted Sheffield United lineup

Formation: 3-5-2

Dean Henderson (GK)

The young custodian would be back in goal after being left out against United. He has 5 clean sheets this season.

George Baldock (RWB)

Started all the games this season and has one goal and an assist to his name. Has played with real zest and has been an energetic presence on the wings.

Chris Basham (RCB)

Another regular in Wilder’s side, the veteran has formed a formidable back-three partnership alongside Egan and Jack O’ Connell.

John Egan (CB)

With 41 headed clearances, Egan has been an indomitable presence in the air. Has been exceptional at the back and is one of Wilder’s key men.

Jack O’ Connell (LCB)

The youngest member in the Blades back-three, O’Connell has been rock-solid so far. Looked comfortable throughout the game against United.

Enda Stevens (LWB)

The attacking full-back has been excellent this season and has operated successfully as a wing-back. Has two assists to his credit.

John Lundstram (CM)

Has been Sheffield’s engine in the middle of the park. The industrious and strong midfielder is their second-highest goalscorer, with 3 in his kitty.

Oliver Norwood (LCM)

A fluid operator, Norwood has been exceptional in the midfield with his good reading of the game and has looked energetic throughout the season.

John Fleck (RCM)

A lively presence in the final third, Fleck was impressive against United, scoring his side’s opener. He now has 2 goals and 1 assist under his belt.

David McGoldrick (ST)

The seasoned campaigner is past 30 but has shown no signs of slowing down. Has linked up well with his teammates in front of goal.

Oliver McBurnie (ST)

With Mousset remaining a doubt, McBurnie might get the nod this time. Scored in the dying minutes against United to end the game on level terms.
