Wolves signing this solid Man United star would be a huge statement of intent – agreed?

Wolves opinion: Should Nuno Santo make a move for Victor Lindelof?

The Birmingham Live has reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in a move for Manchester United‘s Victor Lindelof. Things have changed for the Swede this season but the Birmingham Live (h/t Teamtalk) has reported that he’ll be one of the many victims in a mass exodus at Old Trafford.

That opens up a move for Wolves and it’s one that they should consider making, given the state of their back-line at the moment.

While manager Nuno Espirito Santo does have Conor Coady, Willy Boly and Ryan Bennett at his disposal, there is nobody else if any one of them is to get injured.

The 24-year-old is the definition of the modern centre-back and he has showcased that time after time this season, with his share of impressive performances. Sure, he initially struggled under Jose Mourinho but which Manchester United star didn’t?

His ability has been showcased under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with the Norwegian using him as one of his main centre-backs. So far, Victor Lindelof has missed just three games under Solskjaer, and that includes two games where he was rested ahead of the Champions League games.

It shows just how much he’s improved and with Wolves potentially playing European football next season, they need a few more additions in the right areas. That is if the club does not want to become like Burnley, who are currently fighting against relegation.

While they might survive this season, it shows exactly where a proper first-team squad can help a side. That is where Victor Lindelof will come into play and the Swede is a centre-back tailor-made for Santo.

Conclusion

Wolves need reinforcements next season and it needs to be the right players, otherwise, they could find all the good work they’ve done this season become undone. Victor Lindelof is by far one of the best options that the club can get and it’s why a move is perfect for both sides.
