Wolves signing Sardar Azmoun would’ve been a good investment by Nuno

According to reports from Sky Sports, Sardar Azmoun of Rubin Kazan had triggered some last-minute interest from Premier League side Wolves. He has been labelled the ‘Iranian Messi’ by the media as suggested in the report.

Wolves are having what has certainly been a dream season for them with some unbelievable signings and some even better results. With the assistance of super-agent Jorge Mendes, Nuno has been able to bring a strong group of players together.

The perfect mix of youth and experience, their midfield engine is the main example of the smart and shrewd business they completed over the summer. Portuguese veteran Joao Moutinho and prospect Ruben Neves we’re both signed.

They have taken control of Nuno’s midfield extremely well and the other loan addition of striker Raul Jimenez from Benfica has really increased their attacking potency as well.

They currently find themselves in 7th place which sets them out as the best of the rest despite the presence of strong teams like Everton, Crystal Palace and West Ham United.

While their attack has been decent with 30 goals scored so far this campaign, the stubborn defence they boast is what’s helped them maintain this position. They are currently 10 points behind Manchester United in 6th place as well.

As suggested by Sky Sports, they were looking at the possibility of signing Iranian forward Sardar Azmoun prior to the closing of the winter transfer window. Although this deal fell through, it could’ve been a massive swoop from Nuno’s men.

Considering that Raul Jimenez has been bearing all the striking responsibility, bringing an additional forward to support him would’ve been a good move by Nuno. They would’ve got a player who is top quality and has been labelled ‘Iranian Messi’ by fans as suggested by the report.

His amazing dribbling skills are matched with his finishing as well. Excellent on the ball, he is a very good team player and can be a winger dream with his movement and reading of play. Almost impossible to stop once he gets into the flow, he would’ve added a new dimension to the already deadly Wolves attack.

They have missed out on a top talent this time out but they will certainly be keeping tabs on him until the summer with the possibility of a move still open. Wolves have done very well this season and the addition of Azmoun could’ve been a game changer.
