Wolverhampton Wanderers opinion: Should Nuno Santo keep Rafa Mir?

The Birmingham Live has reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers star Rafa Mir isn’t sure about his future at the club with the 22-year-old on loan. While he is contracted to the Molineux, the Spaniard has spent a large portion of his time at the club on loan.

Mir joined Wolves in the winter of 2018 and got six months before he was sent out on loan. The young forward couldn’t find the net on a regular basis, with him making just three appearances in total.

The Molineux stadium side were chasing after Premier League football and then wanted to keep themselves in the top tier. Mir became a victim of Wolves’ premier league ambitions.

Wolves have since added the likes of Raul Jimenez, initially on loan, before making it permanent. They also went out and bought Adama Traore, Rui Patirico, Joao Moutinho, Benik Afobe and even Leo Bonatini among others.

However, amongst these players, both Afobe and Bonatini have left the club, leaving them with just Diogo Jota, Traore and Jimenez, as Nuno Espirito Santo’s main options up front.

But with Traore fading away, both Jimenez and Jota have picked up the mantle and have pulled Wolves within touching distance of a Europa League. Not only that, they made the FA Cup semi-finals and that could further complicate things next season for Mir.

The young forward will have to prove himself, when an opportunity arises, which will be few and far between. He has shown his tenacity and ability on the ball. time after time. for Valencia and even UD Las Palmas.

A graduate of La Masia, the 22-year-old rejected a move to Real Madrid (ESPN) to join the Molineux. That is why it’s time that he’s given a chance to show what he can do.

Tall, agile and strong on the ball, the 22-year-old is talented and unlike Adama Traore, Mir has proven himself to be a goal-scoring machine. His final season with Valencia saw him finish with 15 goals before the move to Wolves, halfway through the season.

Conclusion

Rafa Mir is a talented striker and under the right guidance, the Spaniard has the potential to do very well for the club. However, that is only possible if Wolverhampton Wanderers give him a chance. Considering what he has given up to come to the Molineux, it’s a chance that he deserves.
