Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction: Wolves line-up

A confident Wolverhampton Wanderers host Tottenham Hotspur at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves are in fine form as they remain unbeaten in their last 11 league matches. They are currently sixth in the league and just one spot above Tottenham.

Meanwhile, Nuno’s Portuguese counterpart Jose Mourinho has helped his Tottenham side win 3 of their last 4 league fixtures since taking over as manager after Mauricio Pochettino’s sacking.

However, Spurs enter the weekend clash after suffering a 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group encounter. Spurs fielded a weak side against the Bavarian giants as they had already qualified for the Round of 16.

Wolves, on the other hand, are high on confidence ahead of the weekend game as they thrashed Besiktas 4-0 to secure a spot for themselves in the Europa League Round of 32.

Nuno will aim for nothing less than a victory on Sunday to stay above the North London giants.

Team news

Except for the injured Willy Boly and midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, Nuno does not have any other major concerns for the weekend game. Boly is still recovering from his ankle injury, while Gibbs-White is ruled out due to a back issue.

Precited Wolves line-up

Formation: 3-4-3

Rui Patricio (GK)

The Wolves No. 1 was rested for the game against Besiktas and would be seen in action when his side lock horns with Tottenham.

Leander Dendoncker (RCB)

Despite being a defensive midfielder, the Belgian has been impressive in a Wolves back-three this year. He is a regular and is sure to feature.

Conor Coady (CB)

One of the first names on the team sheet, the skipper is a calm and composed customer. He has started all the league games due to his consistency.

Romain Saiss (LCB)

Like Patricio, Saiss too should be handed a start after being rested against Besiktas. He has been steady at the back in the absence of the injured Boly.

Matt Doherty (RWB)

Has been excellent moving forward and has established himself as Nuno’s first-choice at right-back.

Ruben Neves (CM)

A crucial player for Wolves in the midfield. He contributes a lot defensively and has a stunner of a right foot. He also likes to shoot from long distances.

Joao Moutinho (CM)

The seasoned midfield magician orchestrates Wolves’ attacks and is their highest assist provider alongside Raul Jimenez, with 4 assists to his name.

Jonny Otto Castro (RWB)

He continues to make an impact going forward and has linked pretty well with winger Diogo Jota this season.

Adama Traore (RW)

The powerful and pacey winger offers plenty of attacking options on the right for Wolves. He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and is an impact player.

Raul Jimenez (ST)

Star striker Jimenez was rested in the previous match against Besiktas. The Mexican would be raring to start once again.

Diogo Jota (LW)

The Portuguese Wolves’ man in form at the moment. He has netted five times in his last 111 minutes of football, after a rather slow start to the season.
