Chelsea have been chasing Kalidou Koulibaly for the most of the season and now it has been reported that the Blues have done chasing him. According to Daily Star, the club has told Napoli that £40 million is the maximum they are willing to pay for the Senegalese defender.
With that bid made, and no result, the Blues have now also made another bid for Torino defender Nikola Maksimovic. The club needs defensive reinforcement with all haste and Antonio Conte has been working hard to sign some defenders. With only two signings so far and their defensive depth depleted, the Italian manager is desperate to do more business this summer but has been finding it difficult to add players at the back.
Chelsea have only Terry, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta and Cahill as their recognized defenders so far this season and Conte wants more depth. The lack of European football is proving difficult to bring big names to Stamford Bridge.
