Wilshere’s Return Adds To The Smartest Midfield In England

Jack Wilshere’s return from injury has been the best news Arsenal fans have heard in recent times. After showing the world his potential to become a world class midfielder, Wilshere went in hibernation for more than 14 months and his return not only delights Arsenal fans but to people who in general love to see some quality football.

Wilshere back in contention for first team action

For a team which is trying to play a brand of football that only Barcelona has mastered better, the return of Wilshere could add energy to the smartest midfield in the country. In a time where Chelsea and Manchester city go out any buy the most expensive players out there, Arsenal and Arsene Wenger have stuck to their footballing philosophies. The midfield trio of Arteta, Cazorla and Wilshere will be the smartest midfield, not because they are the talented midfielders but as a unit they will be a force to reckon with. Players like Chamberlain, Podolski, Gibbs, Olivier Giroud will bring more flare to the game which is centered around the midfield trio.

Arsenal can now try and copy the style followed by Spain, dominating the midfield with their ability to hold the ball for a longer amount of time and off the ball movement by rest of their players. When it comes to the physical side of the game they are not the strongest of teams but Arsenal with Wilshere and Cazorla as “Xavi and Iniesta” and Arteta as “Sergio Busquets” can rule the midfield.

Have a loot at this to see some wonderful midfield play from the Gunners:

But given that Wilshere has not played top flight football for such extender period, Wenger will look to try and ease him into the team rather than rushing the youngster back into first team.
