Predicted Sheffield United Lineup To Face Burton Albion In The EFL Championship
A real mixed bag of form means Sheffield United are in and around the playoff picture without having confirmed whether or not they’ll take part in it come May.
The Blades now have home match against a lowly Burton Albion at Bramall Lane and it’s a great opportunity, with their solid shape and ambition to get forward and score a few goals with a home win looking really quite likely.
Long-term absentee Kieron Freeman and Leon Clarke may be the only key personnel missing while I cannot help thinking that Chris Wilder may reintroduce the exciting David Brooks to the starting XI.
Wilder’s favoured 3-5-2 formation may be tweaked slightly to a 3-5-1-1 and may perhaps feature these troops:

GK – Jamal Blackman
Good to see the young ‘keeper fit and continuing his development. He should start once more.
CB – Chris Basham
Solid at the back and was resolute once again alongside his pals in a 0-0 draw at Ipswich.
CB – Richard Stearman
Holding the back three from the centre, his contribution remains vital.
CB – Jack O’Connell
Not one of the game’s worldwide stars but certainly one who deserves more national credit than he gets currently.
RWB – George Baldock
Still running up and down the right-hand side tirelessly and still producing the goods for Chris Wilder.
LWB – Enda Stevens
Like O’Connell just behind him, Stevens doesn’t really get enough credit having come from the lower leagues but remains someone the boss doesn’t want to be without.
CM – Lee Evans
Hard running midfielder who is capable of a goal and may well get one against this opposition.
CM – John Lundstram
Works well in here and is another who can break into the box on this occasion and cause some problems for the Burton defence.
CM – John Fleck
Still working hard and proving that he belongs at this level, Fleck is bound to play if fit.
SS – David Brooks
When allowed to play in this position in the Sheffield derby at Hillsborough early in the season, he excelled and I can’t help thinking that the boss will simply think that Brooks offers more than either Ched Evans or Clayton Donaldson up front, with Clarke not fit.
ST – Billy Sharp
Plenty of options for the Blades in this position but with one solid, experienced hit man out already, it’s unlikely that Chris Wilder would be willing to bench another one for this game.
